If so, then join Forster Summer School, hosted annually by the Faculty of Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Geography and Geosciences at the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz.

When? 19 – 30 July 2024

Where? Campus of JGU + Excursions to the surrounding area (rafting tour in the region) and to the campuses of Bingen Technical University of Applied Sciences, Alnatura Campus Darmstadt.

APPLICATION: Please fill in the PDF-form completely and submit your application with a CV, certificate of study and language certificates (for English and German language skills, if available).

DEADLINE FOR APPLICATION: 14 April 2024, 00:00 CET

Places? Places are limited. A maximum of 30 students can participate in the Forster Summer School. After the application deadline, a selection committee decides on the allocation of places.

The participation fee? 60,00 € * for each participant (international / non-JGU students / JGU students)

* Arrangement includes: Course fees, catering coffee breaks, cultural program/excursions, farewell dinner

For those who need it, an accomodation and transfer for excursions can be booked additionally for 150,00 €** per person.

**Arrangement includes: Accomodation with breakfast, welcome dinner, transfer for excursions.

Total participation fee: 210,00 € for international / non-JGU students

Please note: Travel, insurance and visa must be organized and paid independently. Lunch and dinner are at your own cost. There are reasonably priced catering options on campus.

Scholarships: This year we are in the fortunate position of being able to award 3 scholarships totaling a maximum of 250 euros per person as a travel grant for financially disadvantaged students. We ask that only students in need apply for these scholarships. In addition to the letter of motivation, please send us a short statement in which you describe your need for a travel grant (max. 1/2 DIN A4 page), as well as a letter of recommendation from a university lecturer.

Language requirements: The whole program will be held in English. Intermediate English language skills are required (B2 or comparable). German language skills are not required, but recommended.
